About Flower Essences
I use essences created by Camilla Blossom of the local company, 3 Flowers Healing. The majority of them are made in the Columbia River Gorge region. No plants are harvested or harmed in the process of making their essences.
What Are Essences?
Most traditions recognize that all living things contain an animating energy. In China, it’s called Qi or Chi. The Japanese use the word Ki, as in Reiki. Indians speak of Prana. Essences hold the healing life force component of a flower, tree or gem. They are water-based (with brandy added as a preservative) and unscented.
How Do They Work?
When the healing aspect is ingested (for example, under the tongue, in drinking or bathing water or by atomizer) its vibrational medicine works to balance the emotions and mind and moreover provides you with energies that you are missing. These energies help by supporting releases of blocks, old unwanted behaviors or ways of being. They also serve to open our consciousness to our own being by bringing spiritual energies directly into the body. This helps us to become aware of and to listen to the divine within.
Why Reiki and Essences?
During my very first ever Reiki treatment, I saw in my mind’s eye the name Camilla. I didn’t know anyone with that name and felt compelled to ask the Reiki practitioner about my experience. She said she knew only one person with that name, Camilla Blossom, and told me that Camilla creates flower essences. At that point, I knew absolutely nothing about them. So, she brought a few bottles over to me and I just knew that I had to check them out. Since that time, I’ve had a number of remarkable experiences with Camilla’s essences—gently supporting me through a time of great psychic awakening, assisting me in releasing blocks of attachment to outcomes and balancing my emotions during times of sensitivity.
I have such deep love and respect for the divine, gentle, unconditional love that is Reiki. I also hold great affection for and honor the nature-based divinity carried within essences. Whether you’re someone who already receives regular healing through spending time in nature, or someone who knows about nature’s healing properties but doesn’t take much time to be within it, or maybe you’re someone who is unaware of how nature might help you heal, you will benefit from essences.
Each flower, tree and gem holds a specific method and facet of healing. Individually or as a custom blend, they can be taken conjunction with Reiki to continue the healing process at home, work or anywhere. The small bottle is easily portable.
Like Reiki, they can do no harm. They are divine nature-based healing energies. However, let me know if you require an alcohol-free version because of substance abuse issues. Furthermore, they have no contraindications, same as Reiki. That is, there are no conditions for which the taking of essences would be detrimental. They compliment all methods of treatment, both allopathic (Western medical) and naturopathic. Another similarity is that they can benefit anyone and anything living: babies, children, elders, pets, plants, bodies of water, land masses, gardens, the chronically ill and the mostly healthy.

Like many people these days, I’m keenly aware of all the resources used in getting consumer products to market. From a very practical standpoint, consuming locally means less waste.
There is another element, however. The Columbia River Gorge is sacred. Indigenous peoples from all over the country used it as a place for gathering, trading and ceremony. Presently it is understandable that local wildflowers, trees and gems are creating and holding healing energies that we who also live in this area need. They reflect and anticipate what we require.

When I make individual formulas, I combine quantities of various essences into one bottle. Which essences are chosen come from matching up what a client reports as an issue to the healing attributes of one or more essences. Naturally, I also rely heavily on my own intuition and what I feel in the client’s energy as something that would benefit from support by an essence.
Are There Dosage Directions?
As with anything else, ultimately I advise listening to your inner guidance. It will inform you on how often to take them and for what length of time. Nonetheless, I’m very happy to provide general instructions. They might look something like: Place 3 drops under the tongue, 4 times a day, until gone.
How Can I Take Them?
There are myriad ways that essences can be ingested. Under the tongue is ideal because they go directly into the blood stream. By adding them into drinking water, you can receive balancing from them throughout the day. You may also apply essences directly to the skin, added to body lotion or on their own. When including them in atomizers, you can treat your aura and/or body with their healing properties. They can also be added to food, raw or cooked, at any stage of preparation. These are just some ideas. Use your imagination for other uses and methods of application.
