My Deeksha Blessing Giver Initiation Story
My reaction to being initiated to become a Deeksha giver was quite strong. If you know me, you are aware that I’m a “have to experience it firsthand in order to really believe it” kind of person. Well, there’s no doubt in my mind now that it works.
Near the beginning of class the trainer made the rounds administering the blessing to students. When it came to be my turn, it transformed into a spontaneous initiation. At first my head began to nod slowly. It picked up speed very quickly and the nodding grew to full head bobbing—forward and back. A couple of seconds later, I was quite surprised to observe my torso involuntarily moving in small counter-clockwise circles. Then the circles increased in size so that the upper half of my body was parallel to the ground at the bottom of the circles. About this time I began to weep. Eventually, the circles became so large and rapid that I fell off my chair onto the floor where I continued weeping for several moments. The whole process likely took only just about over one minute. After it was over I got up, laughing, and said “Well, that was different!”
It’s clear to me that I had a major kundalini awakening. Kundalini is latent spiritual energy that resides in the base of the spine, or root chakra. Awakening this energy is an essential part of spiritual advancement. It’s highly likely that you won’t have this kind of reaction to just receiving a blessing. My response, I’m sure, came from being open to receive the initiation and to move forward on my spiritual path.
